Surrounded in trees
Sunlight dimming, nearly night
Following the light
On this thin dirt path
Looping, winding, uncertain
Following the light
Covered by a cloud
Feeling scared; hesitant now
And then there you are.
Clouds won’t cover you
You’re the light when it gets dark
Always shining through
Plunged in foggy mist
Seems that there is no way out
Everything is dark
Hand on my shoulder
It’s small but it’s good enough
Pull me back to Earth
Clinging on to you
All comes out now- every drop
Just comes pouring out
Can’t live without you
You’re the anchor to my life
Promise me you’ll stay
You understand me
Only you can really know.
We are one person.
Together always
Back-to-back, forever here
Separated now
Placed apart from you
Pulled apart reluctantly
For just a short time
But it’s still too long
Anything could’ve happened
And lots of things did
Return willingly
Braced for a relieving hug
But I don’t get it
Before, things were dark.
We were uncertain and scared.
But it was alright…
Because you were there.
I didn’t know who to trust…
But I could trust you.
Now, what do I do?
