Chirp, chirp, the birds sing,

As you walk in the forest in the spring.

Moss straight from a fairy tale,

Dotted with sunlight, pretty and pale.

Animals hiding from sun rays,

As you walk in the forest in the dog days.

But the thick, leafy tree branches provide a nice shade

So, you sit and have a picnic, all homemade.

Squirrels stocking up for winter, running to and from,

As you walk in the forest in autumn.

You jump in the leaves and roll in the grass

As short-haired rabbits come running past.

A blank canvas, without a splinter,

As you walk in the forest in the winter.

A gentle silence, none too sharp,

As you skate on the frozen lake with no carp.

Air smells ashen, it’s way too hot

As you walk in the forest that smells like rot.

No trees anymore, only stumps-

Once this place was beautiful, now it’s a dump

But that’s what’ll happen if we don’t act!

No matter your age, you can make an impact.

Save the world, a step at a time-

Destroying the planet is a crime!

Any later, it’ll be ruined and be no worth,

But step up now, and you can save the earth!
